Police Blotter: Theft, Disorderly Conduct, and Public Drunkeness

The following information was supplied by the Lower Merion Township Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Theft from vehicle: Police said $10 was taken from an unlocked Subaru Impreza parked on the unit block of S. Wyoming Avenue in Ardmore. The cash was found missing early in the morning on Feb. 29 and was reported to police later in the day, police said.

Disorderly conduct: Police said a man was observed urinating in the SEPTA parking lot behind Brownies 23 East in Ardmore about 2:12 a.m. March 1. Martin Spellman, 22, of the 200 block of S. Narberth Avenue in Narberth, was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. 

Disorderly conduct: Police said a man was yelling obscenities to other patrons at Brownies 23 East in Ardmore about 2:12 a.m. March 1 and trying to start a fight. Andrew Hurst, 22, of the 400 block of Greenwood Road in Kennett Square, was charged with disorderly conduct, police said.

Public drunkenness: Police responded to McCloskey’s in Ardmore at 11:30 p.m. March 1 on a report of an intoxicated man leaving on foot. The man was transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital for treatment, police said. John Irvine, 50, of Phoenixville, was charged with public drunkenness and criminal mischief, police said.

Public drunkenness: An officer on patrol observed a man walking in Lancaster Avenue near Lankenau Drive at about 11:30 p.m. March 1, police said. Orriede Smith, 52, of the 1600 block of 56th Street in Philadelphia, was taken to Lankenau Hospital for treatment and was charged with public drunkenness.

Public drunkenness: Police responded to a call for help at the Merion Train Station at 10:22 p.m. March 3, police said. Lester Robinson, 49, of the 2500 block of Ridge Drive in Philadelphia, was charged with public drunkenness.

Public drunkenness: Police responded to the 500 block of Barrett Avenue in Haverford about 3:22 a.m. March 4, and a man had broken a glass pane on the door and was standing on the front porch, police said. Aaron Poorman, 40, of the 200 block of S. Bryn Mawr Ave. in Bryn Mawr, was charged with public drunkenness, police said.

Public drunkenness: Police observed a man having trouble maintaining balance at Merion Road and City Avenue at 5:29 a.m. March 4, police said. Carl Williams, 52, of the 1600 block of Tioga Street in Philadelphia, was charged with public drunkenness, police said.
