Police Blotter: Expletive Scratched into Door

 reported to news media on Monday the following crimes and incidents from the Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood Patch area in the past week:

Theft: A black iPhone was stolen from sometime between about 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., police said. The victim was playing basketball in Gym B between those hours and found missing the black Apple iPhone, worth $600.

Burglary: Multiple televisions and a Wii game console were stolen from a residence on the 300 block of West Spring Avenue, police said. The burglary occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Aug. 15 and about 5:30 p.m. Aug. 16, police said. Entry was gained through a second-floor window, police said. The homeowner was away on vacation, and no further details were available, police said.

Theft: An Apple iPhone 4S, valued at $800, was stolen from sometime between about 12:15 and 1 am., police said. The victim set the phone down near the nurses’ desk at about 12:15 a.m., and returned to that location at about 1 a.m. to discover the phone was missing, police said.  There are no suspects.

Criminal mischief: An expletive was scratched into the door of a residence on the 100 block of East Montgomery Avenue in Ardmore sometime between 6:45 and 11:30 p.m. Aug. 19, police said. There are no suspects. 

DUI: Police stopped a vehicle traveling westbound on Lancaster Avenue just after 2 a.m. Aug. 19, police said. The vehicle did not have its headlights on, police said. The driver, a 23-year-old Havertown man, had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and failed a series of field sobriety tests, police said. The man blew a .156 on a preliminary breath test, police said.

Public drunkenness: Police responded to at 1:37 a.m. Aug 19 after Brownies security called in a report of an intoxicated person, police said. The man initially appeared to be unconscious, police said, and he was transported via Narberth Ambulance to Bryn Mawr Hospital, police said. The 23-year-old Ardmore man was issued a citation for public drunkenness, police said.
