Police Blotter: $8,000 In Jewelry, Coins Stolen

On Tuesday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in the Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood area:

$8,000 in jewelry stolen: Jewelry and a gold coin, together valued at $8,000, went missing from a home on the 100 block of Edgewood Road in Ardmore on May 22, a homeowner told police.

DUI: At 2:36 a.m. on May 25, a police officer sitting in the police station parking lot on Lancaster Ave. heard a vehicle being driven on what sounded like a flat tire, according to the police report. The officer stopped the vehicle, and a 60-year-old Delaware woman failed a field sobriety test and registered .2 on a blood alcohol content test. She was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, was arraigned, and released on bail.

Public drunkenness: On May 26 at 2:14 a.m., police received a report of an intoxicated man sitting on a bench outside Coldstone Creamery on Coulter Ave. in Ardmore, mumbling to himself. A 50-year-old Paoli man was arrested and charged with public intoxication.

Rolex watch missing: A homeowner on the 1200 block of Grenox Road in Wynnewood reported to police a missing Rolex watch on the morning of May 26. The watch, last seen on May 23, is valued at $6,000, police said.

Public drunkenness: On May 27 at 6:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a fall victim. A 57-year-old woman said she had fallen but was not injured, police said. The woman was arrested and charged with public intoxication.
