Police Blotter: 2 Men Charged with Drinking, Throwing Snowballs at Cars

On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Ardmore, Merion and Wynnewood:
Theft
Police said a black leather handbag with gold hardware, a wallet and cash were stolen from a vehicle on the unit block of Greenfield Avenue in Ardmore between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Feb. 8. A window was broken to gain entry to the car, police said.

Attempted burglary
Signs of force were discovered on a garage door at Don Rosen Audi in Wynnewood, police said. The attempted burglary occurred between 10 p.m. Feb. 9 and 7:35 a.m. Feb. 10. Entry was not gained, and no one was seen or heard.

Public drunkenness
A woman was observed huffing aerosol cans about 11:44 a.m. Feb. 9 on the unit block of Cricket Avenue in Ardmore, police said. A 23-year-old from the 200 block of Eagle Road in Haverford was charged with public drunkenness, police said.

Police responded to a report of five men throwing snowballs at passing cars on the 200 block of E. Lancaster Avenue in Wynnewood about 2:35 a.m. Feb. 11. Upon arriving, police found just two men throwing snowballs. Kieran Curley, 21, of Breezy Point, N.Y., and Nathaniel Rivera, 22, of Reading, Pa., were charged with public drunkenness, police said.
