Police Blotter: 1 Night, 4 Thefts From Merion Station Cars

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Ardmore, Merion and Wynnewood:

Theft: A 100-gallon water heater was stolen from behind retail businesses on the first block of Cricket Avenue sometime from Saturday, April 28, to Monday, April 30. The water heater was soon to have been installed, police said.

Thefts from vehicles: Four Merion Station cars were broken into the night of Tuesday, May 1 to Wednesday, May 2: two on the first block of Blancoyd Road, one on Berwick Road and one on the first block of Merion Road. Thieves got GPS units, a power inverter, a 7-inch TV monitor, sunglasses, an extension cord, a garage-door opener, vehicle paperwork and loose change, police said. At least three of the four vehicles had been left unlocked.

Public intoxication: Patrick Brown, 21, of Phoenixville was arrested at 1:18 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at Lancaster Avenue and Woodside Road. His blood-alcohol content measured 0.31, almost four times the legal limit. He was taken to Lankenau Hospital for treatment.

Probation violation: Police investigating the theft of a cell phone from a home on the 200 block of Shays Terrace about 6 p.m. Friday, May 4, arrested Haleemah Maria Bolden, 21, at a neighboring residence on a county warrant for probation violation, police said. Court records show Bolden pleaded guilty in an identify theft case.

Public intoxication, disorderly conduct: Bruce Showell, 39, of the 5700 block of North Park Avenue in Philadelphia was arrested about 1:05 a.m. Sunday, May 6, at Lankenau Hospital, police said. He had been verbally abusing people in the emergency room while trying to get car keys from a companion so he could leave, police said.

Public intoxication, disorderly conduct: Michael Cirullo, 21, of Holmdel, NJ, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, May 6, at Lancaster and Station avenues after he was observed kicking over decorative items in front of stores, police said.
