Police Alert: Township-Wide Burglaries and Thefts from Auto

The following alert was issued by Lower Merion Police on Oct. 4 at 12:12 p.m.

Recently, several Lower Merion Township communities have experienced burglaries and theft from automobiles.  

The theft from automobiles occurred in the 100 block of Birch Avenue and 300 block of Bala Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, as well as, the 1100 block of City Avenue, Wynnewood.

Entry was gained at various times of day and night to the vehicles by unlocked doors and in one incident force was used.  Small items of value were stolen.

Residents are encouraged to park their vehicles in a well-lit area, to remove all valuables and, if so equipped, to activate their auto's alarm and lock the doors.

The burglaries occurred in the 2100 and 2200 blocks of North Stone Ridge Lane, Villanova.  Entry to the unoccupied residences was gained through unlocked doors and windows between the hours of 7:05 a.m. and 8:15 p.m.  Small items of value were stolen.

Residents are reminded to lock all windows and doors and if so equipped, activate their security system before leaving their home or in the evening hours while asleep.

Anyone with information about these burglaries and/or thefts is encouraged to contact the Lower Merion Police at 610-649-1000.  

Residents are equally encouraged to immediately report any suspicious person(s), vehicle(s) or circumstances to the Lower Merion Police by dialing 9-1-1.
