Pennsylvania Digs Out From Another Snow Storm

The National Weather Service says the latest winter storm that has prompted speed restrictions on Pennsylvania highways and the turnpike has already brought several inches of snow to the commonwealth. Forecasters say observers have reported 4.5 inches of snow in Mercer County in western Pennsylvania and 3.5 inches in Berks County in eastern Pennsylvania, according to The Associated Press.

In Philadelphia, between 2 and 3 inches has been reported. Allegheny, Butler, Venango and Lehigh counties are each reporting 3 inches of snow. The Pennsylvania Turnpike reduced speed limits to 45 mph along the entire turnpike system on Tuesday due to heavy snow and icy conditions, and the same speed limit is in effect on many commonwealth interstates and other roads, according to the AP.

Rain is expected to fall on eastern Pennsylvania over the week, followed by a weekend of sun in the Philadelphia area.
