Parking Vigilante Punches Woman, Police Say

The incident was reported Friday evening outside the Citizens Bank on East Wynnewood Road.

A Citizens Bank patron in Wynnewood was punched in the face Friday evening by a man critical of her parking, Lower Merion police said Monday.

The victim required treatment at Lankenau Hospital for bruising and a bloodshot eye. Police have identified and are pursuing a suspect, whose name and description they are not releasing while the investigation is active.

About 5:25 p.m. Friday, a woman and her adult daughter stopped at the East Wynnewood Road bank to withdraw some cash on their way to dinner, police said. The woman parked in front of the ATM and had gotten out of the car when a man approached her from behind, shouting, "Who do you think you are, parking illegally?"

When the woman tried to get back in her car, the man punched her in the face and fled, police said.
