The has announced its annual pancake breakfast to benefit the . The event, open to the public, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 7 a.m. to noon.
"This is a great opportunity for citizens to express their appreciation for their hometown heroes; the volunteer firefighters who place themselves in harm's way when the alarm sounds," said Jami Whelan, president of the Ardmore Rotary Club, in a statement.
"Local fire companies depend on successful fundraisers to continue to provide volunteer services, so we hope that many will show up at the fire house on October 2nd."
Merion Fire Co. Chief Tom Hayden called the breakfast a "wonderful tradition that truly makes a difference for our fire company."
The breakfast costs $7 and will be held at the fire company's station house, at 35 Greenfield Avenue in Ardmore.
