An adult driver and his 18-month-old passenger suffered minor injuries in a two-car accident Sunday night in Penn Wynne, according to Lower Merion police and fire personnel.
Penn Wynne Fire Company reported on its Twitter account just after 9 p.m. that it was "currently rescuing an occupant involved in a motor vehicle crash by using the #JawsofLife to remove the door on Haverford Rd."
According to township police, the vehicle in question was a Buick LaCrosse that had been traveling westbound on Haverford Road when it collided with a Chevrolet Silverado that was turning left onto northbound Remington Road.
The man extricated from the Buick was taken by Narberth Ambulance to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, complaining of head pain and pain in his side. The 18-month-old child in the car was taken to HUP, then to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for evaluation.
