Lower Merion Police, PennDOT Turn up HEAT on Aggressive Drivers

Authorities are launching a campaign to combat dangerous driving across the Commonwealth.

From July 15 through August 15, Lower Merion Police will participate in an anti-aggressive driving campaign the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is waging across the state.

According to Lower Merion public information officer Tom Walsh, LMPD received grant funds for the project, and will do its part by focusing on aggressive driving and seatbelt violations in the township.

A component of PennDOT’s effort will be a special focus on improving traffic safety on Lancaster Avenue; a project the agency is calling “HEAT on Route 30.” (HEAT is an acronym for Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic).
