At least three Lower Merion fire companies responded to a house fire Thursday afternoon, taking care of it quickly and effciently.

A home on Willow Way in Penn Valley , with at least three Lower Merion fire companies responding with a half dozen or so fire and ladder trucks and other emergency vehicles.

No injuries were incurred by residents or the fire crews. Though a ladder company truck was deployed and the house's roof needed to be punctured and worked on with a chainsaw, the blaze was under control quickly and out within two hours.

Many of the fire responders are volunteers, and came to the site directly from their jobs, said Union Fire Co. Chief Jim Hornung.
