Bala Cynwyd Woman Escapes Close Brush with Intruder

According to Lower Merion Police, the Cynwyd Circle resident was uninjured.

A Bala Cynwyd woman got a scare earlier this month when she spotted a prospective intruder attempt to enter her home, Lower Merion Police are reporting. The woman was uninjured and, according to police, nothing was stolen.

According to police, on May 13 sometime before 3:14 p.m., a resident of the 500 block of Cynwyd Circle was walking her dog around the neighborhood when she saw a suspicious person in her backyard.

The woman entered her home and, from inside, saw the man—who she described to police as an approximately 18-year-old black male with a thin build, dark pants, and a black T-shirt—attempt to open her back door.

Lower Merion Police say the woman ran out her the front door and over to a neighbors' house, where she called authorities.

Police checked out the area, and found no sign of the would-be intruder. Police say nothing was stolen and, though the rear door was unlocked, don't believe the man entered the home.
