Fund Established for L.M. Police Officer's Family

Officer Emilio Liberatore succumbed to cancer July 3.

The Lower Merion Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 28 has set up a fund to benefit the family of Lower Merion Police Officer Emilio Liberatore, who died at age 46 on July 3 after a long battle with cancer.

Liberatore was a 21-year veteran of the Township force. .

An email sent to fellow FOP members said that the fund was established "for Brother Liberatore's young children." Liberatore leaves behind his wife Melanie, 37, and two sons: Emilio, 5, and David, 4.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made directly to the fund, the note read. Checks/donations can be made out to the "Emilio Liberatore" Fund and sent to the following address:
