Deposit Envelopes Stolen from Lankenau Hospital

Cash and checks lifted from locked office filing cabinet

A late December crime at Lankenau Hospital saw an envelope filled with cash and another filled with checks go missing from a filing cabinet, Lower Merion Township Police report.

A worker contacted police on Jan. 7 and stated that hospital personnel had determined that the two deposit envelopes were taken from a locked filing cabinet by unauthorized personnel between the dates of Dec. 27 and Dec. 30.  The contents of the envelopes, checks and $180 in cash, were initially believed to have been picked-up by an authorized courier, yet it was later determined that the items had been removed illegally after it was discovered that the deposits were not made and that the courier had not been to the office.
