Couple Lay in Traffic on Route 30, Police Say

Love is blind. Also, occasionally, pretty stupid.

A "romantic gesture" led to minor charges for a young couple in Bryn Mawr last month, as Lower Merion Police say the pair lay down in traffic on Lancaster Avenue.

According to Officer JoAnne Pepitone, Lower Merion Police found the couple cuddling in the middle of Lancaster Avenue near Water Street on June 18 at 1:35 a.m.

Pepitone said the two leaped to their feet and tried to run when they saw the officer, but were quickly corralled. They had been drinking, but were not intoxicated, she added.
