Bala Cynwyd Couple Report Intruder, Police Say

The couple say they were awoken by footsteps and found muddy footprints in their home.

A Bala Cynwyd couple got a scare on Thursday night when, according to Lower Merion Police, an intruder apparently broke into their home while they were sleeping.

On Thursday at about 10:30 p.m., Lower Merion Police received a 911 call regarding suspicious activity in a home on the unit block of Princeton Road. The homeowner told police that he woke up to the sound of footsteps in his house and, after he got out of bed to investigate, he found an open window. His wife then found muddy footprints upstairs.

Lower Merion Police checked the house and found no intruder, and no missing items. The couple admitted that the window they believe the intruder entered may have been left unlocked.
