Baby Boomers Busted for Smoking Pot in Car, Police Say

An Ardmore resident and a Wynnewood resident were charged with disorderly conduct.

An Ardmore resident and Wynnewood resident were encountered smoking marijuana in a car near the Ardmore train station Thursday night, Lower Merion police said Monday.

An officer on patrol in the SEPTA lot saw two people slide down in their seats as he drove past about 10:40 p.m. He saw a pipe between the legs of the driver, who voluntarily handed it over, police said.

The car's occupants, a 52-year-old woman from Ardmore and 49-year-old man from Wynnewood, were cited for disorderly conduct and drug possession.

Other incidents reported Monday by police included:

  • Theft of bicycle: A resident of the 400 block of Montgomery Avenue in Haverford reported his $500 blue Diamondback mountain bike was stolen from his apartment building's garage sometime Sept. 26 through early Sept. 28. The bike had not been locked, police said.
  • Criminal mischief to building: Police discovered about 2:30 a.m. Saturday that the awning at Sneaky Pete's in Ardmore was lying on the sidewalk. Its brackets had been pulled from the stucco of the building. There are no suspects.
