Altercation Turns Physical in FedEx Parking Lot

A spat between a customer and employee at the FedEx store allegedly turns ugly in the parking lot.

A man told police he received cuts and bruises to his face after he had an altercation with an employee of the FedEx store located at 292 E. Lancaster Ave. on Dec. 1 at 8:10 p.m., police said.

According to police, the man entered the FedEx Store to retrieve a package.  Somewhere during that process the customer got into a verbal argument with the clerk, police said.

The customer finished his transaction with the clerk, and the clerk said that he was done for the day and headed for the parking lot, police said.

According to police, the customer followed the clerk out into the parking lot, and several minutes later, the customer returned to the store with bruises and lacerations claiming that the clerk assaulted him.

Police are checking surveillance footage on the incident.

based on my personal experience with a certain customer type in Ardmore - the customer most likely became abusive and rude - with threats because they couldn't get what they wanted when they wanted. just saying - I have seen it and experienced it many many times.

Obviously this is not appropriate behavior and there is more to it - as a reluctant customer of this store I must say it is unusually awful, the employees are mostly non attentive, because they are understaffed and have a certain attitude of blatant laziness that brings all a negative atmosphere. Eye rolling is common and it's a mutual feeling b/w customer and worker EVERY TIME I have ever gone . So my biz and many others go elsewhere, even if that requires wasted time in traffic or the parking mess at the ups store across the street. Management response? Yea, right...
