Accused Haverford Realtor Calls Charges 'Simply Fiction'

In an email to friends, the Haverford realtor accused of dumping critters in her neighbor's driveway said she didn't do it.

Andrea Straub, the Haverford realtor who, along with her husband, stands accused of throwing dead animals in the driveway of her neighbor's Booth Lane home, has been silent on the matter since the couple was cited on June 20.

But according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Straub has privately maintained that she and her husband have been falsely accused.

In an email the paper acquired earlier this week, Straub, 34, told friends that the most of the information being reported about the incident that cost her her job at Prudential Fox & Roach is "simply fiction."

"The only dispute concerned the caretaker's illegal 'For Sale by Owner' signs he placed throughout our neighbor's property," Straub wrote, adding that her husband asked "him to move them, he refused, and then [the caretaker] shouted expletives and made threats of calling the cops."

"That is the entirety of the dispute," Straub wrote, according to the Inquirer.

The Straub's attorney, George Bochetto, maintains that the Straubs are innocent; a fact he could prove if Lower Merion Police would hand over surveillance video he says proves his client's innocence. Lower Merion Police say Bochetto has made no such request. Calls to Bochetto's office have not been returned.

The Straubs will have their day in court on August 6 at 1 p.m., when they are scheduled to appear before district judge Kathleen M. Valentine.
