A Year Later, Man Charged With Haverford Bank Robbery

Marcus Ricketts, 35, is charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in August 2011 at the Wells Fargo Bank in Haverford.

A Boyertown man charged in July with an Exton bank robbery has now been charged in connection to the .

Marcus Ricketts, 35, from Boyertown, Pa. was arrested and charged on July 2 in connection to the robbery of M&T Bank in Exton. On Aug. 16, he was charged in connection to last year's Wells Fargo robbery in Haverford (402 West Lancaster Ave.), according to court documents.

In the Wells Fargo robbery, Aug. 9, 2011, "a lone man entered the Wells Fargo Bank in Haverford and went to a teller and announced a hold-up. He was armed with a handgun, and after the robbery, fled the scene," the Lower Merion Township news release reads.

On July 2, Ricketts allegedly robbed the M&T Bank in Exton and was then apprehended by Uwchlan Township Police.  After a follow-up investigation, it was "determined that he was the same man that robbed the Wells Fargo Bank," the release states.

For the Wells Fargo robbery, Ricketts is charged with four counts of robbery with threat of immediate serious injury and nine other robbery-related charges, eight counts of terroristic threats, carrying a firearm without a license, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking, and other lesser charges, according to court documents.

Ricketts is currently being held in Chester County Prison on similar charges for the M&T Bank robbery. His bail, originally set at $50,000, was raised to $300,000 on July 5.

Ricketts will be arraigned on Aug. 28, at 1 p.m. at in Ardmore on the Lower Merion charges, according to the township news release.
