4 Break-Ins in One Day in Merion and Wynnewood, Police Say

Three burglaries and an attempted burglary occurred on March 27, Lower Merion police said.

Three burglaries and a burglary attempt in Merion and Wynnewood were reported on March 27, Lower Merion police said at a Monday briefing.  In two incidents, several pieces of jewelry were taken; in the others, homeowners were away and it is not known what is missing at this time, according to police.

The break-ins occurred on:

300 block of Baird Rd, Merion Station: The burglary occurred between 12:45 p.m. and 1:58 p.m., police said. Police responded on report of an alarm activation and discovered forced entry had been made to the residence on the first floor, according to the report. While checking the residence, police saw that it had been ransacked; several pieces of jewelry were taken, according to the report.

100 block of Overbrook Parkway, Wynnewood:   The burglary occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Officers responded to the residence after a neighbor reported that a door was standing open at the neighboring home, police said. Officers found forced entry had been made on the first floor. Upon returning home, the resident said several pieces of jewelry were missing, according to the report.

700 block of S Latches Lane, Merion Station:  Police responded to an alarm activation at 10:33 p.m. and found forced entry had been made on the rear first floor of the residence. A keyholder responded to police and an interior check of the house was conducted, but since the residents were away, it is not sure if anything was missing, police said.

900 block Cedar Grove Road, Wynnewood: Officers responded on a report of an alarm activation on March 27, and saw that force had been used to gain entry to the residence. Although the homeowners were away, their son responded to the home and said nothing appeared to be missing, according to the report.
