$100K Haverford Burglary Reported

LMPD on Monday reported the following incidents.

Lower Merion police on Monday reported the following incidents from the past week in the Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood Patch coverage area:

  • DUI: A 67-year-old Philadelphia man was pulled over at Lancaster Avenue and Church Road about 1:45 a.m. Nov. 13, police said. His car had been seen weaving and straddling lane lines, and it hit the curb as he pulled over for an officer, police said. His blood alcohol content registered 0.18.
  • Burglary: A homeowner on the 200 block of Ivy Lane in Haverford lost an estimated $100,000 in jewelry and silverware Nov. 13, police said.
    She left the house about 9 a.m. that day, mistakenly leaving the rear door deadbolt key in the lock. She returned about 11:20 a.m. to find the windows in the rear door smashed. The alarm system had not been activated.
  • Public intoxication and disorderly conduct: Three Havertown men, ages 27, 24 and 21, were charged after a fight Nov. 15 on the 200 block of East County Line Road in Ardmore, police said.
    It happened about 2:45 a.m. Nov. 15. The 21-year-old man also was charged with drug offenses when, police said, an officer found a large bag of marijuana on him.
  • Public intoxication: A 32-year-old man from Rittenhouse Place in Ardmore was cited near his home about 12:10 a.m. Nov. 16 after, police said, he tried to flee a $31 taxi bill.
