Postcard from Merion
What a treat, a trip to the boardwalk topped off by a delicious cone of frozen custard. I don't think I will ever be too old to get a kick out of that. Going for a walk "on the boards," as my grandparents would say, was the "icing on the cake" of the shore experience.
The smell of salt air, mixed with cotton candy and popcorn still summons up waves of nostalgia for the days when I was one of those kids filled with awe, waiting to grab the brass ring on the merry-go-round.
