Lower Merion Boys' Soccer Defeat Plymouth Whitemarsh

Lower Merion Boys' Soccer defeat Plymouth Whitemarsh.

The Lower Merion boys' soccer team defeated the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials, 2-1 this Saturday. The Aces (4-0) opened the scoring three minutes into the game on a goal by junior Tyler Robinson, assisted by Senior Matt Lindheim. With ten minutes left in the first half Plymouth Whitemarsh evened the score with a nice free-kick from Senior Joe Hunter.

In the second half, the pace of the game picked up and play went back and forth with both teams looking to gain momentum.   The Aces would score the game winner with ten minutes left in the game, off of a Matt Lindheim cross.  There was a scrum in front of the Colonials net, and the ball passed the goalie and goal line. The Aces would hold on for the remaining minutes and walked away with the 2-1 win.  Senior Connor Yu had four saves on the day.

Coach Nicholas Severini said, "This was a very exciting back and forth game.  The Plymouth Whitemarsh team played a very nice game and had a strong game plan.  We were able to create several chances and were able to ultimately find the back of the net when we needed it the most.  Now we will have to be ready for league play."

Next up for the Aces is their league opener, this Tuesday against Central League foe Radnor High School.
