Aces Boys Soccer Win Season Opener

Aces Boys Soccer win season opener.

On Saturday Sept. 1, the Lower Merion High School Boys Varsity soccer team played its first official game of the season and won 4-0.

The home and season opener was played at the High School Stadium on Arnold Field.  The Aces first opponent of the year was a determined squad from West Chester East.   Lower Merion scored in the first five minutes of the game with a placement shot from Senior Matthew Lindheim.

Goals were also followed in the 10th, 15th, and 20th minutes of the game, by Senior Trevor Yu, Junior David Baer, and Sophomore Evan Wolf.  Lindheim also added two assists.

The shutout began with Senior goalie Connor Yu and was finished off by Sophomore WIll Rosenbaum and Senior Jesse Denenberg.  Overall it was a very solid performance by the team.

Coach Nicholas Severini was quoted, "I am very pleased with the way our players came out to play mentally prepared.  It was a nice way to start the season, however it is a long season and we want to take it one game at a time."

Next up for the Aces is Monsignor Bonner and this game will be played on Tuesday Sept. 4 at 3:45 p.m.
