Sam Advances in 'Top Dog' Derby

The 1-year-old pup will compete against other area canines for the chance to be named the Greater Philadelphia region's Top Dog.

Nancy G's dog Sam has won the Top Dog mantle for Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood Patch.

Sam, who just turned 1, got . The pup is pictured in photo 15 of the 17 photos uploaded.

Sam and the other local winners move on to a regional competition, in which voting will take place from July 9 to July 20.

After that, five regional winners will face off July 23-27 for top honors in the greater Philadelphia area, to be announced July 30.
