6th Annual Howl-O-Ween

  • When: Friday, Oct. 5 from 6-7:30 p.m.
  • Where: Cricket Avenue, Ardmore
  • Why Go: It's First Friday in Ardmore and tonight to add to the festivities bring your pooch in costume.  There will be costumes for the most original, scariest and funniest dogs in costume.  For more information, please visit First Friday's website.
  • Cost: Suggested donation of $5 

ChalkMob at Linwood Park

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Where: Linwood Park, Linwood and Athens Avenues in Ardmore
  • Why Go: Kids and adults alike are welcome to come help create free form drawings with liquid chalk on the hard surfaces in the park. Come out anytime from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and chalk it up; then, from 2 p.m. on watch local artists Todd Marrone, Deirdre Murphy, Bevan McShea, and James Traynor build upon and add onto the designs created by the community to make a giant chalk masterpiece!  Get more info here.

Ardmore Rotary Pancake Breakfast

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 7 from 7:00 a.m - noon.
  • Where: Merion Fire Company in Ardmore
  • Why Go: Ardmore Rotary is hosting a pancake breakfast to raise money for the Merion Fire Company in Ardmore.  Come support our local heros!  For additional information, please visit the event section.

4th Annual Andrew's Friends Fund Beef & Beer

  • Where: Brownies 23 East
  • Why Go:  Celebrate Andrew's life and help give back to the community.  Have a fun night out, enjoy food, drinks, door prizes, amazing auction items, live music and dancing - all for a great cause.  Andrew's Friends Fund was established to provide opportunities for children and their families to enjoy special moments together through community improvement projects and charitable donations.

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 6 from 8:30 a.m. - noon.
  • Where: Lankenau Hospital
  • Why Go: Reducing your daughter’s risk of breast cancer begins with education. Learn about risk factors from genetics to the environment, and how changing what you eat, breathe, and buy can reduce your risk. Understand the importance of early detection, and meet a young woman who is changing the way breast cancer is detected.

Barn & Brew

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 7, 4:00 PM
  • Where: Toland Farm in Wynnewood
  • Why Go: Tour Toland Farm in Wynnewood. See firsthand the meadow restoration project the Pasture Partners are doing with technical support from Natural Lands Trust. Then go back in time as you enter one of Lower Merion’s last remaining barns—still complete with stanchions for milking cows and an active chicken coop! Afterwards, adjourn to Ardmore’s award-winning Tired Hands for a happy hour with your first delicious pint courtesy of Tired Hands—Lower Merion’s first local brewery of hand-crafted, fine beers. Sample some of Tired Hands’ homemade pickles, house-baked bread, and cheeses from local farms. Reservations required.
  • Cost: Lower Merion Conservancy Members $40 per person/non-members $50 per person
