Bar and Restaurant To Open “The Barrel Room” Featuring Live Music Nightly
“When you see the Southern Cross for the
first time, you understand now why you came this way…” – Crosby, Stills &
Nash. Named after one of the most iconic classic rock songs of our
generation, it seems only fitting that Southern Cross Kitchen (SCK) has
revealed plans to open the largest music venue in Conshohocken.

“The Barrel Room,” which will be located on the
second floor of SCK, will make its debut during an extended weekend celebration
that kicks off during happy hour on Thursday,
July 17 and end with a sensational Sunday
brunch on July 20.
During this exciting
weekend, “The Barrel Room” will feature an eclectic mix of music, including artists
playing at the venue’s new piano bar, acoustic rock acts and singer-songwriter
performances. Music-themed-drink deals, specialty cocktails and signature
dishes will also be offered throughout the weekend.

“My business partner and I have always wanted to
create an exciting space filled with great music and an amazing energy,” said Kim
Strengari, co-owner of Southern Cross Kitchen, as well as sister restaurants
Stella Blu and Gypsy (also located in Conshohocken). “The Barrel Room’ not only
allows us to expand our business but also provides our customers with a new
experience that they can’t get anywhere else in Conshohocken.”
“The Barrel Room” will feature nightly
entertainment including its crown jewel— a piano bar, with music ranging from
jazz and “Sinatra-style” standards to modern and classic rock tunes. Acoustic
artists, an open mic night, and singer-songwriter shows will round out the
venue’s lineup. A full dinner and Sunday brunch menu will also be served during
the “Barrel Room” performances with specialty drinks and dishes offered to add
to the experience.
