Meet representatives from The Katie At The Bat Team between 11 am – 7 pm and learn more about how they empower urban youth living in underserved Philadelphia neighborhoods to achieve their full potential through participation in programs that combine athletics, character development, fitness and nutrition education, leadership training and academic support. Using a long-term, intensive approach, they offer school-year programs as well as summer camp opportunities and provide coaching and mentoring to participants over a period of years. While some programs welcome boys, their chief focus is on empowering girls in their critical adolescent and early teen years to grow stronger, healthier, more
confident and capable while supporting each other as part of a team, learning to stand for themselves and with each other. Whole Foods Market will donate 5% of the store's sales today to help support healthy snacks for school-year programs.
