24th annual Paper Mill Run 5K race at Historic RittenhouseTown

Historic RittenhouseTown will host its 24th Annual PAPER MILL RUN, September 7.  The start is at 10 am in the village at 206 Lincoln Drive, Philadelphia.

Expected to draw over 150 runners, this year the planners have added a “Fun Run” for children.  As their race will be much shorter, the kids will also have the opportunity to make paper outside the RittenhouseTown barn.

The annual Paper Mill Run race is one of the most important fundraising events supporting the operation of Historic RittenhouseTown and its Education Program.

Site of British North America’s first paper mill built by the Rittenhouse family in 1690, Historic RittenhouseTown is a private nonprofit with 501c3 status. We are dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of this unique National Historic Landmark District within Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park.

Annually we welcome nearly 2000 school age children. Groups tour our authentic 18th century village, make paper using the same tools and techniques as the Rittenhouse family and prepare a colonial recipe in our ca. 1725 Bake House. We offer family friendly programming throughout the year including our popular Summer Workshop Series.  Professional paper crafters come together with members of the community in a wide variety of classes during the summer months.
