Weather for the Week: Mostly Not Miserable

Thunderstorms are likely Monday afternoon, but the high is not expected to break 90.

After a week of 100-degree temperatures and stifling humidity, the National Weather Service is forecasting a week of mostly bearable weather.

Friday is expected to be hot with a high near 97 degrees, but otherwise temperatures through the weekend will top out in the high 80s or low 90s.

For today, the NWS says showers and thunderstorms are likely (60 percent chance) after 1 p.m., with a mostly cloudy day reaching a high of 88 degrees. Monday night, showers and thunderstorms could return before 2 a.m.

The forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday is mostly sunny, with a high near 90 and 88, respectively. Overnight lows are expected to be about 70 degrees.
