TV's 'Jeopardy' Looking for Contestants Here

Alex Trebek comes to Philadelphia to put out the call for a special upcoming tournament.

The Philadelphia region is home to some of the nation's top colleges and universities. Now Jeopardy Host Alex Trebek is putting out a call for contestants in an upcoming College Championships Games series on the show.

Beginning next month, interested undergraduate students can apply online to see if they qualify. Undergraduate college students enrolled in any school can enter.

Philadelphia, Pa. (February 20, 2013) – Alex Trebek took time out of his busy schedule to stop by the 6abc/WPVI campus today to say hello.  Trebek, traveling with Supervising Producer, Rocky Schmidt, spent about two hours with the 6abc Team.  WPVI is one of the top performing Jeopardy! stations in the country.  Trebek was buzzing about the current $250,000 “Jeopardy!” Tournament of Champions now in progress through the 26th of February.

Jeopardy! is now searching for new contestants for its upcoming College Championships Games.  Beginning next month, interested undergraduate students can apply online to see if they qualify.

An encouraging Trebek offers advice to undergraduate students, “Approach it from a positive aspect saying, ‘Maybe I could do well on this and potentially end up on the program.’ There is no down side to it.” Reminds Trebek.
