Township Cleanup This Weekend

The township will accept household appliances, textiles, plastic, glass, newsprint, and "plain old trash" free of charge.

This weekend marks another "cleanup weekend" in Lower Merion, according to the township website.  Residents can dispose of trash and recyclables free of charge from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Lower Merion Public Works Complex, 1300 N Woodbine Ave, Penn Valley.

The list of accepted items includes:

  • Household appliances
  • Textiles
  • Plastic
  • Glass
  • Newsprint

Also accepted will be "plain old trash," the press release reads.

Proof of residency, such as a driver's license, is required in order to make use of the cleanup. Then, township crews will help unload.

The township also included the following reminders:

  • Recyclable material must be separated from other household trash.
  • Take advantage of the Township's recycling drop-off center. Recycle mixed paper, textiles and commingled items.
  • Hazardous waste will not be collected at this event.
