The Week Ahead: 5 Things To Know

A heads up for those who live or work in Ardmore, Merion or Wynnewood.

  1. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for southeastern Pennsylvania this week. Temperatures Wednesday and Thursday are expected to rise into the mid-90s, with temperatures approaching 100 degrees on Thursday.
  2. Expect lane closures on the westbound Schuylkill Expressway Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., between City Avenue and King of Prussia, for bridge cleaning.
  3. A new photography exhibit opened Saturday at Haverford College. "Photographic Time From the 19th Century to the Present" features 15 photographers, whose work is "a concise summary of the history of the technology of photography, the quest to stop time and the changing aesthetics used to represent it." The work is viewable at Magill Library's Alcove Study Gallery on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., now through Sept. 30.
  4. The Lower Merion Board of Commissioners meets this Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the township building (75 E Lancaster Ave, Ardmore), and it is the last commissioners' meeting until July 18.
  5. Harriton High School graduate Jake Ohlbaum '12 will perform at MilkBoy in Ardmore at 8 p.m. on Thursday. Shipley School graduate Nathan Muchnick will also play. Tickets are $7 at the door.
