Here Comes the Heat Again

The heat index could hit 102 Friday. Highs of 92 or 93 are expected for the next week.

After several days of relatively moderate summer warmth, Friday should begin a week of 90-degree-plus heat in the Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood area, the National Weather Service predicted in a forecast Thursday evening.

Friday's predicted high is 93 degrees, with a possible heat index (perceived temperature) around 100 or even 102. There is a 30 to 40 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms, with a predicted nighttime low of 76.

According to an NWS Heat Advisory, Friday should be hottest between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The next six days, Saturday through Thursday, continue the pattern: a high of 92 or 93, a low in the mid-70s. No precipitation and little wind is in the NWS forecast during that time.
