Get Out: Thanksgiving Weekend

With a four-day weekend at hand, it's time to catch up on sleep, do some holiday shopping, and of course, fit in some quality time with the fam. Here are a few ideas for getting out this weekend, including a post-turkey workout session, Santa's visit to Suburban Square, a Sesame Street matinee, and a country music song and story night at MilkBoy.

• When/Where: Friday, Nov. 25 at 9:30 a.m. at All Saints Church, Wynnewood
• Why Go: Start your Black Friday off right (or take a break from the insanity) and head to All Saints Church for Performance Fitness Boot Camp's post-turkey workout Friday morning. This is also the kickoff for the 3rd Annual Get Your Can To Class food drive, which will benefit Philabundance. All ages and fitness levels welcome.
• Cost: One can of food per person.

Lego Festival At Ardmore Library

• When/Where: All day on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26, at Ardmore Library
• Why Go: Have some Lego lovers in your family? Head to the Ardmore Library this Friday or Saturday to make Lego projects and "Lego snacks."
• Cost: Free

Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird

• When/Where: Saturday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. at Bryn Mawr Film Institute
  
• Why Go: The muppets may be hitting the big screen again this holiday season in The Muppets (starring Amy Adams and Jason Segel), but on Saturday, Bryn Mawr Film Institute will screen Follow That Bird, a Sesame Street "muppets" film from way back in 1985. (Do yourself a favor and watch the trailer for Follow That Bird at the link above for a trip back in time.) Bake 425 will be handing out free pizza samples and coupons in the arcade before the screening.
• Cost: $5 adults, $4 kids

Santa In Suburban Square

• When/Where: Saturday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Ardmore Farmers Market
• Why Go: Ring in the holiday season with a visit to see Santa at Suburban Square on Saturday.
• Cost:  Free

• When/Where: Saturday, Nov. 26 from 12 to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 3, Sunday, Dec. 4, Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Macy's in Suburban Square
• Why Go: Round up the kids and head to Suburban Square for a free photo with Santa at Macy's this weekend—or if you don't have time this weekend, you've still got the chance through Dec. 11. 
• Cost: Free

An Evening of Thanksgiving w/ Craig Bickhardt & Friends

• When/Where: Saturday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. at MilkBoy in Ardmore
• Why Go: This annual event features country singer/songwriter Craig Bickhardt along with friends/musicians Tom Hampton, Michael Ronstadt, Tommy Geddes, and Michael Tearson. Settle down with some decaf and enjoy their stories and songs.
• Cost: $15 advance, $18 at the door
