Get Out: Bridal Block Party, Clover Market, Music Festival

What's going on in the Ardmore Patch area this weekend.

It's another busy weekend in the Ardmore area, with Ardmore's Clover Market returning for fall and a Bridal Block Party on Schauffele Plaza in downtown Ardmore and in on Friday.

This month at Clover Market, make some crafts with 's Arts Alive Mobile and listen to some tunes by Art Miron as you browse the vintage and handmade wares. The featured nonprofit is . Check out a sneak peak of the fall sellers here.

Ardmore Initiative Bridal Block Party

  • When/Where: 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16 at in downtown Ardmore and Suburban Square. Red carpet registration at Schauffele Plaza, at the intersection of Anderson and Lancaster Avenue.
  • Why Go: Getting married? Thinking about getting married? Single, but buying your wedding dress in advance, a la Liz Lemon? Then head out to Suburban Square for the Ardmore Initiative's Bridal Expo on Friday. Ardmore's boutiques will be showcasing their looks on a red carpet. There will also be a string quartet up the street at Bryn Mawr Trust (by the fountain), if you want to try out some challenging heels, say.
  • Cost: Free (and free parking after 4 p.m.)

Clover Market

  • When/Where: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18  at 12 E. Lancaster Ave.
  • Why Go: Clover Market returns for the fall with its showcase of vintage and handmade wares. 
  • Cost: Free admission

Haverford Music Festival

  • When/Where: 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17 (rain or shine) in the Oakmont business area of Havertown. There are two music stages: one at Eagle Rd. and Darby Rd., and the other on the Oakmont Elementary School field.
  • Why Go: Enjoy eight full hours of live music on two outdoor stages, including jazz, pop, rock, classical strings and Celtic music, concluding with a Fleetwood Mac tribute from 7 to 8 p.m.  Food and drink vendors will be available too, with beer gardens at Oakmont Tavern and Lamplighter. Plus, the whole event is free.
  • Cost: Free

Family Fun Night

  • When/Where: 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17 at
  • Why Go: Bring the family out to Riverbend for a hike at dusk. Listen and look for cicadas, katydids and more, then roast marshmallows around the campfire.

Haverford College Wildflower Meadow Walking Tour

  • When/Where: 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18 at Haverford College, 370 Lancaster Avenue, Haverford
  • Why Go: Haverford College is home to the oldest planned college landscape in the country. The grounds include more than 1,500 trees, a pinetom, zen-style gardens, a duck pond and a nature trail, all on a 200-acre campus. Arboretum Director Bill Astifan and Lower Merion Conservancy staff will teach about the wildflower meadow on Haverford's grounds.
