Photos: Foodapalooza 2013 Winners

The annual fundraiser for First Friday Main Line, featuring many Ardmore restaurants, took place Friday, April 5.

It was a busy night at Haverford Estates on Friday, as locals sampled food from 15 area restaurants and 10 chefs competed to be named the winner of Foodapalooza 2013, the annual food fest and fundraiser for First Friday Main Line.

In a surprise victory, Chef Mark Gellert of Haverford Estates came out on top for his pecan-encrusted salmon and sweet potatoes. Chef Owen McCaffrey of A La Maison placed second for his seared stripe bass, and Chef Justin Helmer of Gullifty's took third with his short ribs.

The busy judges at Foodapalooza—Jamie & Jodi Lokoff of MilkBoy Recording and Coffee, Cheryl Allison of Main Line Media New, Lower Merion Township Commissioner Cheryl Gelber, Haverford Township Commissioner Jeff Heilmann, and Karen Toole-Ebbert, founder of Lower Merion Community Network—had to sample 10 different dishes.
