$775 Jewelry Theft from Harry's Treasures, Police Say

The incident occurred on March 29.

Two pieces of jewelry worth a total of $775 were stolen from Harry’s Treasures in Ardmore last week, Lower Merion police said at a Monday briefing.

The owner told police that two middle-aged women and two women in their 20s entered the store around 3 p.m. on March 29 and began perusing the store. One of the women purchased a $10 item and tried to purchase a larger item, but the card was declined, the report states.

The women left the store, then returned about 10 minutes later, asking to see a bracelet that was in the counter display case. When the clerk removed the bracelet, one of the other women asked to see a ring in a display counter, according to the report.

After looking at the ring, the four women left the store without purchasing any items. At that point, the clerk saw that part of a 14-carat gold bracelet with pearl inlay was lying on the desk, torn in two parts, with a large part of it missing.

Stolen was a gold ring worth $125 and a 14-carat yellow gold bracelet with pearl inlay worth $650, the report states.
