A heads up for those who live or work in Ardmore, Merion, Wynnewood and Haverford.

1. Today is Columbus Day. Find out what's open and what's closed.

2. The Lower Merion Board of School Directors will meet at 8 p.m. Monday in the district administration building's first floor board room (301 Montgomery Ave., Ardmore). View the agenda in PDF form.

3. Saturday is the Penn Wynne Library 5K Run/Walk. The race starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the library, 130 Overbrook Parkway in Penn Wynne. Find out more about prizes and events here.

4. The Lower Merion Township Environmental Advisory Council will offer a free  home rain barrel workshop and compost education program for residents on Saturday. The workshop will be held at 10 a.m. in the township building's second floor board room (75 E Lancaster Ave, Ardmore).  For more information, e-mail Andrea Campisi of the Township’s Building and Planning Department at acampisi@lowermerion.org or call (610) 645-6112.

5. Sunday is Clover Market Day in Ardmore. More than 100 arts, crafts, vintage and antique vendors will set up shop in the parking lot at 12 E Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore from 10 to 5 p.m. Find out more at the Clover Market website.
