A heads up for those who live or work in Ardmore, Merion, Wynnewood or Haverford.

1. Monday is Martin Luther King Day. Find out what's open and closed, and how you can celebrate MLK Day in Lower Merion and Philly.

2. The deadline for Ardmore Library's annual Charlotte Miller Simon Poetry Contest has been extended through Tuesday.

3. Though there is no normal Lower Merion Board of Commissioners meeting on Wednesday night, the commissioners will host the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners at 7 p.m. Wednesday for a public discussion of local matters. For more information, call the County Commissioners’ office at (610) 278-3062.

4. Whole Foods in Wynnewood will be collecting small appliances at a free electronics recycling event on Saturday, Jan. 26.

5. Need a Clover Market fix? The vintage and homemade sellers market has expanded with new winter hours: over 50 vendors will be at the Armory in Philadelphia on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Get the details here. (Don't worry—the market will be back to Ardmore in spring.)
