Clover Market Returns, Iron Hill Moving Along, More To Know This Week

Five things residents of Ardmore, Merion, Wynnewood, Penn Wynne or Haverford should know the week of April 8-14.

1. Lower Merion's Board of School Directors meets at 8 p.m. Monday in the district administrative building's first floor board room (301 E Montgomery Ave, Ardmore). View the agenda in PDF form here.

2. Plans for a are in motion:  Lower Merion Planning Commission will hear the tentative sketch plan for Whole Foods Market's expansion, which involves consolidating eight properties, demolishing seven buildings, and constructing a new 45,000 square-foot Whole Foods, on Monday night. The proposal includes 106 subsurface and 120 surface parking spaces. 

The matter then goes before the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners' Building and Planning Committee on Wednesday night: the meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the township building's second floor board room (75 E Lancaster Ave, Ardmore).

3. Iron Hill Brewery plans are also officially in motion, township-wise: One of the items on Wednesday night's Board of Commissioners agenda is a public hearing for a liquor license transfer for the brewery, which will be located at 60 Greenfield Ave. in Ardmore. 4. With spring weather finally upon us, Clover Market will hold its first market of the spring on Sunday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check out the artwork, vintage, antique and handmade wares, along with some great food, at 12 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore—aka Schauffele Plaza, or the lot by Bella Italia. (Check out photos from one of last year's markets.)

5. Sunday is also an exciting day for the Lower Merion Aces: the community will celebrate the boys' basketball team and their state championship win with a parade. Get more details here.
