The Saint James, Saffron Offer Specials For Restaurant Week

Two Lower Merion eateries are participating in this week's event. You can read their special menus here.

Only days are left in this spring's Main Line Restaurant Week. Check out what these two Lower Merion Township restaurants (and 25 area restaurants) will be offering this week.

Diners may find bargains at restaurants that are typically out of their price range. Discounted lunches are available at several locations, and various prix fixe menus offer three-course dinners for $20, $30, $40 or $50 a person.

  • heirloom tomato salad | fresh mozzarella, focaccia
  • kennett square wild mushroom flatbread | micro arugula and truffle salt
  • fava bean ravioli | ricotta, mint, parmesan
  • east coast mahi mahi taco | tomatoes, pickled red cabbage, chipotle aioli
  • big eye tuna tartare | crispy rice cracker, jalapeno, micro cilantro
  • spanish octopus | lemony hummus, smoked tomato jam
  • sweet corn soup | maine lobster, scallion oil
  • crispy rock shrimp lettuce cups | pickled corn, chili basil

Second Course, choice of:

  • black angus La Frieda burger | cheddar cheese, Nueske bacon, house made fries
  • roasted turkey | avocado, aioli, multigrain, fries
  • caesar salad | parmesan reggiano, crouton (add chicken-or-shrimp)

  • slow braised beef brisket | homemade gnocchi, roasted carrots, parmesan
  • wild mushrooms & handmade fetuccini | baby green onions, parsley, parmesan
  • pork milanese | lemon, rocket arugula, cherry tomatoes, red onion, shaved parmesan

Third Course, choice of:

  • warm chocolate chip cookies | house made classic
  • ice cream | dark chocolate or french vanilla
  • sorbet | mango-apricot

Dinner menu for Saffron Indian Kitchen ($20)

Appetizer, choice of:

  • Samosa – Homemade turnovers stuffed with diced potatoes and peas, flavored with spices
  • Onion Bhajia – Fresh Marinated Vegetables deep-fried in a chickpea batter
  • Chicken Tikka Kabob

Entree, choice of:

  • Mixed Vegetable Curry
  • Chana Saag
  • Chicken Tikka Masala – Tandoori chicken tenders cooked in a delightful delicate, tangy and spicy paprika sauce
  • Chicken Tandoori – Spring chicken marinated in masala yogurt for 24 hrs and baked in tandoor

Bread, choice of:

  • Naan
  • Garlic Naan – Leavened bread with garlic & coriander
  • Tandoori Roti – Whole wheat bread with no oil

Dessert, choice of:

  • Gulab Jamun – Hot Cream dumplings dipped in sweet rose water syrup
  • Kheer – Chilled homemade rice pudding flavored with cardamom, almond and raisins
