Hometown: Lower Merion

Current Residence: Upper Merion

Earlier Stints: Some of the places she has worked include A. J. Winston's in the suburbs and at Knave of Hearts in Center City.

First Experiences With Food: She said her mom was a good cook. "I always wanted to cook," Rapine said. She used to cut her college classes to work in the cafeteria.

Favorite Meal: When she's in the mood for pasta she makes it with olives, spinach, tomatoes, garlic and wine.

What do you like about the business? The people. She likes that Peppers Café is so small because she gets to really know her customers. It took her a while to get used to cooking right in front of people, she said, but she's used to it now.

Plug: There are soup, salad and sandwich specials served daily. She said people go crazy over the Traditional Caesar Salad.
