Local Author Hosting Release Party for Zombie Book

Stop by Viva Video on Friday to meet Bryan Way and get an autographed copy of his debut novel.

The morning after the Fourth of July, many of us feel like zombies...so why not scoot over to Viva Video and pick up a book about them?

On Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Bryan Way is hosting a release party for his debut novel, Life After: The Arising. The book, which Way wrote over the course of a decade, tells the story of a zombie outbreak from the vantage of a college student home on break in the Delaware Valley.

Despite a lack of conventional survival skills, Way's protagonist gets by on pluck, grit, courage...and a weird amount of zombie knowledge.

"I feel like in zombie fiction, they don't address the fact that a lot of people read zombie books and watch zombie movies," the author told Patch last month, adding that, conversely, his character's obsession is what saves him.

There are only 100 copies of Life After available at this printing, and at Friday's event Way is only accepting cash. For more information on the release party, see the event's Facebook page here, or stop by Viva Video, located at 16 W. Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore.
