Citron And Rose Adds Saturday Hours

The kosher restaurant on Montgomery Ave. in Merion has added a Motzei Shabbat menu.

Since its opening in October, kosher restaurant Citron and Rose has closed Friday and Saturday in observance of the Sabbath—but starting this week, the Merion restaurant will add limited Saturday hours.

A smaller Motzei Shabbat (post-Sabbath) menu will be available one hour after Shabbat's end on Saturday night, the restaurant announced in an email Wednesday.

Some of the items included on the menu are:

  • Mushroom knish with smoked kasha, tsimmes, carrot mustard ($10)
  • Salmon pastrami crudo with smoked walnuts, beets, orange and horseradish ($11)
  • Poached chicken salad with haricots verts, dried cherries, smoked almonds, tarragon-dijon vinaigrette ($15)
  • Cinnamon babka with red wine sorbet ($9)

And don't worry—the bar will be open too, and sooner: just 30 minutes after Shabbat's end.

And a little help for the non-Jewish among us, who aren't so sure when Shabbat ends: a Citron and Rose public relations rep said the restaurant will open at sunset.
