First Friday Celebrates The Irish

First Friday Main Line's next event is set to take place on March 4 and will feature music and art by Irish-inspired artists.

After February’s Foodapalooza event, First Friday Main Line returns in March to celebrate local art and music, Irish-style. First Friday’s March event will take place on March 4 and will feature Irish music from several musical acts and artwork in venues throughout Ardmore, according to a First Friday Main Line press release.

So far, Irish musicians include duo Dorothy Sherman and Dayve Shannon, along with Ed Saultz and O’Brien.  According to the press release, First Friday Main Line is looking to book an additional Irish musician.

Duo Dorothy and Dayve will perform at Firinji (54 E. Lancaster Ave.) from 8:45 to 9:30 p.m. The group plays Celtic/Irish music, as well as a variety of other genres, like blues and country.

As for the art world, Ann Marie Casey’s Irish photography will be featured at Beneficial Bank, and Ellen Abraham’s figurative/abstract comical paintings will show at Firinji, according to the First Friday Main Line website.

Operation Angel Wings is back as well, collecting clean and new or gently used warm clothing and blankets to donate to the needy overseas.

If you’re feeling lucky, wear a little green to March’s First Friday Main Line event, to take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on March 4.
