The Ardmore Library Book Shop opened its doors earlier this month and is currently open four afternoons a week. Located on the lower level of the Library in its program room, the Book Shop offers a wide selection of used paperback and hardcover fiction and non-fiction for sale. With many states, including Pennsylvania, making significant cuts in public library subsidies over the last several years, public libraries have had to look for creative ways to fund their community programs and collections. Book sales have proven to be an increasingly popular and effective way to address budget shortfalls. And, with most books priced $2 and under, Ardmore Library Book Shop visitors can expect some great finds and bargains. The Library also continues to offer a small selection of books for sale in its lobby as well as children’s books in the stairwell.
*Book Shop Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 12-5p.m. and Wednesday 1-5p.m.
*Ardmore Library gladly accepts donations of books in excellent condition. Non-fiction preferred. No encyclopedias, text books, or magazines, please. If you have a large donation to make, please contact Jane Quin, Head Librarian, at 610-642-5187 to schedule a convenient drop-off time.
