Are You A Photographer? First Friday Seeks Submissions

First Friday Main Line's "Shooting Stars" photography exhibit is August 3.

Aspiring photographer? Novice? Professional? You could have the opportunity to show and sell your art in August at First Friday Main Line's Shooting Stars photography event, to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 3 in downtown Ardmore.

This year the theme is "Magic on the Main Line" and local photogs are invited to submit photos of people, places or events taken somewhere on the Main Line. Approved submissions will be on display at offices, coffee shops or retail stores during the event, and some photos, depending on where they are hung, may remain up for the full month of August, according to the FFML website.

  • Photographers must prepare the entries as ready to hang (matted, foam board mounted and framed) accompanied by required information (artist name, title of photograph, price if for sale.) A downloadable form is available on the FFML website.
  • Photographers may submit up to 5 small pieces (matted size up to 11 X 14 inches) or up to 3 large pieces (matted size up to 16 X 20).
  • The artist understands that the participating First Friday Main Line art venues do not insure exhibited work.
  • The individual artist must deliver and pick-up the work at the designated end of the exhibit.
  • FFML receives a nonprofit 30% commission for any sales made during the exhibit.

Those interested in participating can email info@firstfridaymainline.com with JPGs of their work. Art should be submitted by mid-July, FFML Executive Director Sherry Tillman said.
